This 1968 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Coupe has been fully restored to high standards and features a range of performance upgrades. Finished in Lime Green Metallic with a black vinyl roof over a black vinyl bench seat interior, it is powered by a professionally rebuilt 427ci V8 engine with a Hurst-shifted 4-speed manual transmission and a 3.55:1 Posi-Traction rear end. Additional features include power front disc brakes, power steering, a Panasonic AM/FM/CD audio system, SunPro instrumentation with a tachometer, and 14” rally wheels with staggered Uniroyal raised white letter tires.
The restoration, completed between 2006 and 2008, included a full disassembly and replacement of rusted areas with new metal panels. The body was primed, block sanded, and finished with four base coats of Lime Green Metallic urethane and three coats of clear for a deep, high-gloss finish. The front chassis was fully rebuilt with a new cross member, big block engine mounts, coil springs, and suspension components.
The 427ci V8 was rebuilt with 9.5:1 compression pistons, a performance camshaft, new bearings and gaskets, a 4-barrel carburetor, long-tube headers, a 2.5” dual exhaust system, a Griffin aluminum 3-row radiator, and a Pertronix Ignitor solid-state ignition system. The Saginaw 4-speed transmission was fitted with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter and a Centerforce dual friction clutch. Other upgrades included new fuel and brake lines, sub-frame connectors, multi-leaf rear springs, KYB shocks, and a rebuilt 10-bolt rear differential with an Auburn 3.55 Posi-Traction gear set.
New chrome bumpers, window gaskets, seals, weather stripping, side marker and taillight lenses, interior components, and upholstery were installed.
